Susan Shaw is a studio artist working is several media: oil, watercolor, and porcelain. She is an exhibiting artist member of the Providence Art Club, and Rhode Island Watercolor Society, an elected artist member of the Art League of Rhode Island, member of Newport Art Museum, South County Art Association and elected artist member of Mystic Arts Center. Her paintings reflect an interest in her natural surrounds; her porcelain creations draw from her affection for color and desire to incorporate a sensory experience in clay that extends beyond functional use. Painting and ceramics inform each other in unexpected and gratifying ways. Together they satisfy my desire for tactile experience and invite my visual pleasure.
