Rick Curtis Grosvenor

Rick graduated from St. George’s School studying art & architecture under his father and photography under Norris Hoyt. At Harvard, he received his BA in Biology, and studied under Will Reiman, learning three dimensional design, woodcut and drawing. At the Winthrop House he directed figure drawing workshops and had his woodcuts on display. Among his work experiences were: Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute, in the graphics dept., head of the Art Dept. at Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, NH and later taught Photography and Computer Science at St. Mark’s School in Southborough, MA. After his moved back to Newport he forged a career in Real Estate, including brokerage, marketing, web mastering and IT services. He is married to Terry Grosvenor and has four children. Rick illustrated “The Handbook for Beach Strollers from Maine to Cape Hatteras” written by Donald Zinn of the URI and produced the covers and other marketing materials for his wife, Terry's tapes and CD’s of children’s music. Rick has also assisted in the production and filmed as second camera the documentary “58 Harrison Lane” about a school in Western Ct. that specialized in helping boys with different learning styles produced by Sprague Theobald, “Hole in the Wall Productions”. Rick also was involved in the production of a short film about the Seamen’s Church Institute on the waterfront. Rick paints weekly with his father and siblings as well as with a group of Rhode Island plein air painters. He is a member of the Newport Art Museum and an artist member of the Providence Art Club in Providence, RI. His work has been on display at the Providence Art Club, Arnold Art Gallery, and 5 Main Gallery in Wickford and “Life Forms Gallery” in Providence.
