Marcia Eager - Potter
Presented by Wesleyan Potters
In the 1970’s I was introduced to clay by a visiting psychology resident from Switzerland who was a potter. She did a workshop with the clients in our program. I participated in the workshop and fell in love with clay – the feel of it and all the creative diverse pieces one can achieve with it. I started taking classes at the Pottery around 2000 and used it as a great stress reliever and a creative outlet. “Playing with Clay” became an important part of activities I did for myself. In 2008 I became a member and still find joy and relaxation while interacting with clay. I am mainly a hand builder, preferring to work with slabs and coils. I am not traditional in my work. It has been called “whimsical” and “fun”. I prefer bright colors or the contrast of black and white and use my creations as a canvas to express myself.
