Presented by Arts Center Killingworth’s Spectrum Art Gallery and Artisan Store

Kim Ford is a pastel artist based in Salem, Connecticut. Although she has been painting for only a few years, her creative journey began in ceramics, where she developed a lasting appreciation for the tactile relationship between artist and material. That experience continues to influence her work today, drawing her to the rich, hands-on qualities of soft pastel. Kim was introduced to pastels at a class taught by Lorna McLaughlin at The Red House Cultural Arts Center in Salem CT where she also showed a few of her pieces. She has continued her learning experience and practice with artist and teacher Lori Neumann. Each painting of Kim’s is thoughtfully paired with a custom frame handcrafted by her husband from reclaimed wood, creating a finished piece that celebrates both fine art and craftsmanship. Together, the painting and frame reflect a shared appreciation for natural materials, texture, and timeless design. Kim’s Fine art is currently exhibited at Spectrum Gallery in Centerbrook, CT.
