Fernando Casas

Presented by Limits and Proximities Gallery

Fernando Casas is a Bolivian/American artist, who across more than six decades, has helped all those who have taken the time to contemplate his work find the “edge of the world: the border between reality and the whereof we cannot speak but perhaps can show.” Fernando Casas has presented more than 30 solo and 35 group exhibitions across four continents. His artwork is also part of many permanent private collections and hangs in galleries around the world. His work on art, science, philosophy, and perspective has been discussed in 11 books. Today the Limits and Proximities Foundation for the Arts is custodian of more than 200 works created by Casas between ca. 1956 to 2024, representing the single largest collection of his paintings, drawings, and etchings in the world. The Foundation has established a gallery, The Limits and Proximities Gallery, in the historic neighborhood of Georgetown in Washington DC to create a contemplative space in which to experience Casas’s works.
