Chun Hui Pakcame to the USA from Seoul, Korea. Her studies of Fine Arts began at Indiana University, then later at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and still later at the Yale University School of Art where she received a Master of Fine Arts degree. Chun later extended her studies to Digital Art and Print making at the Center for Creative Studies in Detroit. As an oil painter with printmaking skills, Chun creates stimulating and thought-provoking artworks that win accolades, grants and awards most notably the“Creative Artists Grant” from ArtServe Michigan: an Alliance for Arts Education, Artists, Volunteers and Cultural Advocacy in State of Michigan; the award for “Best of Show”at the Michigan Fine Arts Competition; the Curator's Award for artistic excellence from the MicroMuseum of Art in New York City, and the recent honor of being named to the Austin-American Statesmen's Austin 360 Artist "A" List for the artworks she exhibited during E.A.S.T. 2009. Chun was also among a fortunate few selected for an interview by PBS station KLRU during E.A.S.T. 2010.
