Christina DiFabio Savas is an artist living in Westerly, RI. For Christina, each painting is an exploration of color, texture, and the wonders of flora and fauna. Considering birds, fish, and flowers as natural objects of both beauty and mystique, she celebrates their unique forms with bold color palettes and painted texture on canvas. She loves to inspire joy and wonder in her audience, reminding them to pause and indulge in the beauty of nature. Working with both acrylic and watercolor, Christina finds the process of painting with bright colors and interesting shapes an expression of personal freedom and sees her journey as a painter to be a passionate, unrestricted, lifelong education. A BFA in Apparel Design at the Rhode Island School of Design and 17 years of professional experience as a fashion designer has fed Christina’s fine art practice with a design-minded process utilizing different techniques of painting to capture wild and whimsical subject matters. Christina is professionally affiliated with the Wickford Art Association, and her work can be found at juried art shows across New England. DiFabio’s work is currently exhibited at Spectrum Gallery in Centerbrook, Connecticut.
