ARTIST BIVENNE HARVEY STAIGER RECEIVES AWARD IN NATIONAL FINE ART EXHIBITION New York, November 6 - The American Artists Professional League (AAPL) has announced Bivenne Harvey Staiger as the 2011 recipient of the "Canson Fine Papers Award" at the AAPL 83rd Grand National Exhibition. The award was presented by AAPL President Larry Mallory on Sunday, ...November 6, 2011 during the AAPL annual meeting and awards reception held at the Salmagundi Club in New York City. Bivenne Harvey Staiger of Cromwell, Connecticut was selected to receive the award for a watercolor painting entitled "Snowy Egret in the Dark Lagoon" and chosen from 30 watercolor paintings in the competition. "The AAPL is dedicated to encouraging and promoting traditional realistic art," said Larry Mallory. "We are delighted to recognize some of America's finest artists and our award winners' work epitomizes the quality of art that our organization strives to support." The non-profit AAPL has been devoted to the cause of fine arts in America since 1928. Each year, the organization hosts its Grand National Exhibition, a show that highlights major and emerging professional artists in oil, watercolor, pastel, graphics and sculpture. Entries are accepted from all 50 states as well as internationally and judged by a selection committee consisting of professional artists. This year, the American Artists Professional League's 83rd Grand National Exhibition highlights the achievements of 219 artists.
