Come celebrate the last works of Lois Eldridge, a woman connected to people through stories, language, travel and her pottery.

Lois was a founder of the Glastonbury Art Guild, a member of the Society of Connecticut Craftsmen and a member of the Silvermine Guild at the Silvermine Arts Center in New Canaan. She was a longstanding member of, and workshop coordinator at Wesleyan Potters where she continues to be remembered fondly and missed.
Lois was well known for her collectible pears, collected perhaps because they were small, affordable, and fit in one’s hand. Many of the Wesleyan Potters members collected and still treasure her pears. We can now hold them in our hands as a connection to Lois’s story and as a symbol of our interactions with her.

The pieces in this show represent the work that Lois had been exploring in the months before her death. Her artistic energy and persistence is as present in this work as in her other bodies of work from times past.
