Kendall Klingbeil
“Give me a commission, project, or job, and I’m a happy camper! These past few months I’ve been using my artistic resources for all kinds of works. Designing and creating sets for Magical Music for Life to oversized colorful paper silhouettes. From mini classical oil still lives to larger abstract paintings and plastics. Portraits of houses and horses to plein air painting near home and afar. I’ve also been teaching oil painting privately in my studio/gallery in Pound Ridge, NY. It has been extremely rewarding to watch my students’ talent blossom.–including here at the Exploring Music and the Arts Camp. I so enjoy variety in my daily life as an artist. I love expressing my joy through ART. That’s why in Summer Songs I’ll have a bit of everything!”

For me, the joy of painting is losing myself in the living, ever-changing beauty before me–whether in my own “back yard,” on the road, or at the studio. The challenge is to express this seeing-feeling convincingly in oil paint on canvas. Exploring the effects of light in nature, deepening my understanding of the principles of fine traditional painting — wonderful pursuit, endless journey. These days it’s only way I “vacation!”
