Please join Boston Sculptors Gallery for the opening of two concurrent solo shows, “Spring Will Be a Little Late This Year” by Elizabeth Alexander & “Mostly Heads” by Peter Haines.
Spring Will Be a Little Late This Year, Elizabeth Alexander’s solo exhibition encompassing collage, sculpture, photography, and installation. In her search for domestic relics of the American dream, Alexander appropriates, deconstructs, and reconstructs materials such as floral wallpaper, furniture, party dresses, and porcelain teacups.
Mostly Heads, a solo exhibition of new bronze sculptures by Peter DeCamp Haines, continues the artist’s exploration of the formal aspects of sculpture: form, line, space, and scale. Modeling additively with wax or clay, Haines searches for shapes that feel right to his aesthetic– favoring geometry, the compound curve, negative space, and clean silhouettes.
