NIGH SEASON:
NEW PAINTINGS BY DAVID KONIGSBERG

Catalogue available

Kenise Barnes Fine Art is delighted to announce the opening the fall art season with a much-anticipated exhibition of new paintings by David Konigsberg. Kenise Barnes Fine Art represents Konigsberg exclusively and Nigh Season is the artist’s third solo exhibition with the gallery. Konigsberg, a well-established, mid-career artist has delivered thirteen exceptional new canvases for this show. His solo exhibition in 2012 sold out.

In Konigsberg’s work we are cognizant of the duality between the lush painterly surface and the mysterious narrative of his composition. Moving deftly between the genres of landscape, still life and his distinctive, signature figurative painting style, Konigsberg shows mastery of his medium and subject. The compositions are rich with implied history, folly, fragility and the illusiveness of the everyday. Konigsberg’s graceful brushwork renders his subjects at once dreamlike and tangible. His paintings coalesce in a powerful union of imagination and truth.

The artist’s work has appeared in episodes of Gossip Girl, Chronogram Magazine, The New York Times and New American Paintings, to name a few. lives and works in Hudson, NY
