The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston presents Monet and the Seine: Impressions of a River that takes a look at Claude Monet’s fascination with the Seine. Monet (1840–1926) used the Seine river early in his career to study artistic composition and light in relation to setting and atmosphere.
This beautiful exhibition offers more than 50 paintings on loan from locations around the world. The paintings begin with scenes of local activities, modern life, and cityscapes along the Seine, and follow through to the painter’s famous Mornings on the Seine series.
