FRIEDA is proud to showcase its first curated art group exhibit HOME from 1 June – 4 August.

HOME features a diverse group of accomplished international artists who call Philadelphia home, for now. Agathe Bouton, originally from France, traveled the world from Europe to Africa, Asia and finally America, her work greatly influenced and informed by the many cultures experienced and her love for architecture.
Color and textiles have always played an important role in Bouton’s art. This is visible in her monochromatic works where color appears in different halftones, shades and densities. Chenlin Cai was born and educated in China. After obtaining an MFA from the prestigious Tsinghua University in Beijing, he pursued an MFA from PAFA in Philadelphia to learn western art techniques. Cai’s artistic range and
his use of ancient Chinese painting technique on various media ponder the question of the consequences of human behavior on the environment and History.

Danielle Siegelbaum also from France, had a successful international career in textile and graphic design in Paris and New York where she made the decision to pursue her artistic calling. Through her work, Siegelbaum attempts to tell stories through cultural references, ambiguities and at times contradictions, touching on sex, religion, pop-culture and other topics reflecting on our times. Marisa Keris recently graduated from The Tyler School of Art with a MFA. Keris lived and studied in Rome, Italy, and Pont-Aven, France, honing her skills and broadening her cultural experiences. Keris’ inspiration predominantly comes from her connection to her immediate environment physically, emotionally and spiritually
