Step inside a grand nineteenth-century mansion turned museum for Chasing the Light: Inside the Luminous World of T.C. Steele, a major exhibition of more than thirty oil paintings tracing the full career of Indiana’s most celebrated painter and founder of the Hoosier Group. On view at the Haan Museum of Indiana Art, the only museum in the state devoted entirely to art and culture by Indiana artists, this centennial exhibition marks one hundred years since Steele’s death and ten years since the Haan opened its doors, following him from his academic training in Munich to sunlit citrus groves in California, intimate family scenes lit by lamplight, and the Brown County hillsides he returned to again and again until the year he died.
