The Duncaster Art Gallery has a new show opening on August 29, featuring the works of Caribbean-born artist Stanwyck Cromwell. The exhibit is open Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., running through October 2.
A reception will be held on September 13 at 4:00 p.m. to formally introduce the exhibit of the Guyanese artist. The exhibit will feature Cromwell’s ongoing series of artwork that originated in the late nineties themed, “Autumn Through Caribbean Eyes.” The majority of his work is rendered in color, although his black-and-white images are designed to metaphorically project and create the allusion of color. The exhibition draws parallels between the colors of Cromwell’s Caribbean palette and those of autumn found in the United States.
