A new public art experience opens this summer in North Texas. In celebration of America’s Semiquincentennial, MillHouse Foundation, in partnership with Cotton Mill Partners, presents the inaugural America 250: Texas Trailblazing Wonder Women Exhibition, on view June 12 through August 26 inside the newly launched Atrium Gallery at the McKinney Cotton Mill Arts and Design District.

The exhibition features 24 large-scale (48×60) original works created by artists from across Texas. Each piece pays tribute to Texas women who helped shape history—leaders, innovators, and cultural icons whose influence continues to resonate today; including Barbara Jordan, Lady Bird Johnson, Ann Richards, Simone Biles, Beyoncé, Mary Kay Ash, Bessie Coleman, Esther Dyson, Marta Sophia, Ima Hogg, Wanda Harper Black, and Selena Quintanilla, among others.

“This exhibition explores symbolism, portraiture, and storytelling,” said Dana Brock, Atrium Gallery Director. “Each artwork captures the spirit of a woman who changed the course of history, and together they create an experience that is both visually striking and deeply meaningful.”

All artwork in the exhibition will be available for purchase, offering collectors a rare opportunity to acquire museum-scale original works while supporting Texas artists.

A highlight of the exhibition will be the Meet the Artists Reception on June 27 from 4:00–6:00 pm, where guests can meet participating artists and celebrate the announcement of award recipients, including the $5,000 Texas Trailblazer Award and five $500 Lone Star Awards.

The exhibition is free and open to the public:

Saturday & Sunday: 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM

The Atrium Gallery is located inside the McKinney Cotton Mill at 610 Elm Street, McKinney, TX 75069 (Parking Lot B), just outside MillHouse Foundation and White Box Roastery.
