From its conception over 24years ago, artists have been invited to submit serious “copies” or tongue-in-cheek humorous interpretation of known art work in two and three dimensional form to this exhibition. This February exhibit has grown to be a much anticipated area event for both artists and the art appreciators alike. The artists study and learn techniques used by the old and modern masters while the public has a chance to enjoy and own an “almost masterpiece” without traveling to Boston or New York. A guest judge will select the “Best in Show” and several other awards from the works submitted. Gallery visitors will get to vote throughout the month for their favorite with a “People’s Choice Award”.
The show runs February 7 – 28, 2016. The gallery will be open until 8 pm. on Thursday,
February 11th for Gallery Night in Newport. Spring Bull Gallery located at 55 Bellevue Avenue in
Newport, Rhode Island is wheel chair accessible and open free to the public. Gallery hours are noon
