Opening Reception: Oblivion Blues
Join Kutlesa for the opening reception of Oblivion Blues, an exhibition of new works by Oakland-based artist Yulia Pinkusevich at the gallery’s New York location. Pinkusevich’s large-scale paintings explore the space between abstraction and information, memory and measurement, transforming systems originally developed to map destruction into deeply physical, hand-painted compositions.

Drawing from civil-defense mapping, aerial surveillance archives, and personal histories of catastrophe, the exhibition considers how violence is recorded, measured, remembered, and experienced. Through ink, oil, acrylic, mineral pigments, mica, and mirrored glass, Pinkusevich transforms data and diagrams into works that invite reflection on geography, memory, and empathy.
