Montgomery Museum of Art presents Material Transformations. Materials that transform an object a function, simulate reality but push it into a different reality. Each artists contributes work that goes beyond conventional art-making materials by using ordinary everyday objects such as aluminum foil, gym shoes, and kitchen sponges as their medium.

Artists including Angela Ellsworth, Alison Foshee, Johnston Foster, Kirsten Hassenfeld, Rune Olsen, Lucrecia Troncoso, and Paul Villinski encourage viewer into overlooking the humble raw materials and instead focus beyond the fascinating physical transformation of the commonplace.
