The Florida Museum of Photographic Arts will exhibit Modus Operandi: Contemporary Photography from the collection of BNY Mellon from January 15–April 15, 2019. Modus Operandi brings together an innovative group of photographers and marks the first time this photography collection will be on view to the public.

The exhibiting group of artists employ non-traditional methods in making their work – sometimes technical, sometimes conceptual – that speaks to the performative nature of contemporary photography. The photographs speak about the photographers as performers themselves.

Artists in the exhibit represent 8 countries and include: Walead Beshty, Miriam Bohm, Yasumasa Morimura, Zanele Muholi, Alex Prager, Erin Shirreff and Michalene Thomas, among others.

“We are honored to host one of the largest photography selections from BNY Mellon ever shown.” said FMoPA Executive Director Zora Carrier, Ph.D. “It’s our goal to collaborate with top artists and collectors to produce exhibitions of the highest quality.”

Modus Operandi: Contemporary Photography from the collection of BNY Mellon will be on view during regular museum operating hours and is included in the general admission fee. To learn more about this exhibition and other programming at the museum, visit www.fmopa.org
