Painting, printmaking and mixed media by Freddi Elton, Barbara Harder, Kathy Kane

Every artist begins with a surface, a tool and a medium. ELTON HARDER KANE, the July show at New Haven’s City Gallery, combines work made by a printmaker, a painter, and another printmaker. Each artist is quite different from the other, in approach and final product. Still, making a mark is, for each, the beginning. This show, on view July 6 – July 30, is about the different ways the artists have eliminated the extraneous and come to what is, for them, the essential.
