For 14 years, the PleinAir Salon Art Competition has been a cornerstone in the art world and continues to stimulate artistic growth through competition every month. The winners of the monthly competitions are entered into the Annual Competition where the Grand Prize winner receives a check for $15,000, and has their winning painting featured on the cover of PleinAir Magazine.
Dave Santillanes, 9th Annual Winner, “My life really did change. The exposure is one thing, but we actually bought a camper with the award which is now our Plein Air mobile.”
Why This Matters To You:
- Generous Prizes: $50,000 in ALL Cash Prizes Annually.
- Career Milestone: Being on the cover of PleinAir Magazine isn’t just an honor; it’s a significant career milestone, opening doors to new opportunities and collaborations.
- National Exposure: Winning in the PleinAir Salon, even the monthly competitions, brings you exposure through our national magazines PleinAir Magazine and Fine Art Connoisseur, as well as our e-newsletters Plein Air Today, Fine Art Today and INSIDEArt. This opens the doors to collectors and galleries!
Kimball Geisler – 12th Annual Grand Prize Winner, “Participating in the PleinAir Salon was a turning point. Winning even a single award brought significant recognition, elevating my work with the esteemed Salon logo. These wins were unpredictable and exhilarating, opening doors to new opportunities and growth.”
[There’s been a] dramatic increase in demand for new workshops, and the classes seem to be filling up. I’ve reached my absolute limit for this year in terms of how many workshops I can possibly fit in! I also have a couple upcoming appointments with “dream galleries” that are a direct result of winning my award.
This competition is more than a contest; it’s a celebration of your talent and dedication, a platform where your artistry is recognized and rewarded. It’s your chance to step into the spotlight, showcasing your unique vision to an audience that appreciates and values the beauty of art.
Paula Holtzclaw, Artist & Entrant, “I have never felt that I was competing in any way against other artists or artwork, but rather just against myself. The desire is to challenge myself to continually improve. These events are also another way to have our work seen by collectors, galleries and the public.”
