All artists residing in Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Texas are invited to enter The Art of the Portrait, a juried exhibition and sale of work focused on the figure at the Gaylord-Pickens Museum, home of the Oklahoma Hall of Fame. Artwork must be the artist’s own original design and concept and created independently. Artists do not need to be a member of the Portrait Society of America to enter. Artwork accepted into the exhibition will be on display at the Gaylord-Pickens Museum from September 12-November 21, 2019. Both 2D and 3D artwork will be accepted. No photography prints or computer-generated artwork will be accepted. Entries must have been completed in the last three years (since May of 2016).

Artists may enter up to three works of art for an entry fee of $25, but only one work will be selected for the exhibition and sale. There will be a two phase jurying process with the preliminary judging conducted by Portrait Society of America board members Edward Jonas and Dawn Whitelaw. The final awards will be judged from the original artwork by Rose Frantzen and Jeff Hein, the faculty for the Portrait Society of America’s Oklahoma Portrait Academy.
