Call Summary
An upcoming public art mural funded by the Reisterstown Improvement Association, Inc. a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We are looking for a mural artist to complete a public mural located on the side of 237 Main Street, Reisterstown, MD 21136.

Budget Description
A mural artist/ or team will receive a stipend of $10,000 to cover cost of materials and labor.

Project Description
Reisterstown Improvement Association is seeking to install a mural in Reisterstown, MD. that pays homage to the unique charm of Reisterstown Main Street. Reisterstown has a rich past and thriving present. This project aims to incorporate these elements into a postcard style mural that will be a staple for any visitors on our Main Street to stop and admire.
The project is to be completed in the spring of 2022.

We are accepting submissions through 3/31/22 from muralist artists or muralist teams who have an interest in making a creative and bold mural that represents Reisterstown with the letters “Welcome to Reisterstown” in the style of a vintage/classic/ or modern postcard. Once selected, the artist(s) will be expected to complete mural in two phases:
● Phase One:
1. Community design meeting
2. On site walk through
3. Finalize design (if needed)

● Phase Two:
1. Prep & purchase all additional supplies
2. Mural painting / production

Artwork Location Description
This mural will be on the side of the Baltimore T-Shirt Company located at 237 Main Street, Reisterstown, MD 21136. The size dimensions for the art pieces are approximately 20’W x 8’H. Prospective artists should submit 1-3 sketches of their artistic renderings or mural concept mockups.

Application Requirements
Artists are allowed to apply in teams.
Artists applying as a team must split the allotted number of work examples between themselves. Please include a mural concept design, past projects/portfolio, and references.
