Open Call for Exhibit Artists
Carliskle Arts Learning Center
Entry Deadline: Mar. 20
CALC will be holding a jury session in the Spring of 2020 to fill exhibit slots on our 2021 and 2022 calendar. The exhibits, in the G. B. Stuart Gallery on the first floor, are generally 2 person shows – the artists are matched during the jury process to complement one another. 2-D and 3-D artists are often paired together. Groups may submit together.
Nonmembers are encouraged to apply. Jury committee will consist of CALC staff, a local artist of merit, and an academic or gallery professional. Exhibit must reflect the same type works (style, media) sent to the jury process, but the actual works juried need not be included in the final curation. All mediums are considered except performance. Jury sessions also help identify artists and prospective show ideas for our Upper Gallery, where collaborative exhibits, group shows, and nontraditional exhibits can be accommodated.
There is no charge to the artist to exhibit at CALC, although a membership will be required. CALC provides all printed materials, promotion and a well attended Opening Reception. Artists are encouraged to promote their exhibit through their client contacts and social media.
Commission on sales is 35%, paying 65% to the artist. CALC collects and pays sales tax.
