2024 INSPIRED BY Exhibition: Family and Community

This year SMI is once again partnering with Montclair Art Museum for our Community Partnership Program. Created by co-founder and past president Virginia S. Block, it is now in its seventh year. The partnership exhibition aims to reach out to other nonprofit organizations each year to create a collaborative exhibition designed to inspire our members, create new connections, and reach new audiences.

The inspirational theme for this year’s call is based on MAM’s current exhibition “Family, Community, Belonging: Works from the Collection” which explores concepts of family and community in relation to belonging, diversity and inclusion. The exhibition features a variety of historic, modern, and contemporary works. This year MAM will also be hosting the 2024 New Jersey Fine Arts Annual.

For this exhibition, you are invited to explore the theme of how do you define your family, community and belonging.
This joint exhibition will be displayed concurrently at two locations in Montclair: Studio Montclair’s 3,000 square foot Leach Gallery and MAM’s Vance Wall Art Education Center Gallery.
The works will be on view beginning September 12, 2024. An opening reception will coincide at both locations on Thursday, September 26, 2024 from 7-9:00PM
