RECEIVING: Sat. & Sun., July 21 & 22 from 2-4 pm at the Flinn Gallery. For a $500 donation to GAS, you may make a private arrangement for drop off and pick up of your work, pay NO entry fee, and waive your volunteer time.
WHO: GAS Members only. Artists may renew/join at entry. Art previously shown in GAS juried exhibit is not eligible for reshow. Work completed prior to 2016 not accepted.
REQUIRED: All entrants are required to sign up for a gallery attendant shift to sit in the Gallery during the show. Only accepted artists are required to gallery sit during open shifts. Entering your work constitutes agreement to this condition***
DISPLAY/SIZE: No POR. Wall-hung: Max size 6’h x 5’w x 8”d. 15 lb. max weight.
ALL work must have screw eyes and wire attached ready for hanging. No saw tooth hardware or fishing line accepted. Unframed stretched canvas must have 1.25” museum edge. All other works must be framed.
Sculpture: Limited to 8’ height & 12 sq. ft. floor area. (i.e. 3’ x 4’). Provide own base.
CATEGORIES: All 2 and 3-D original art / media welcome. Fiber and Ceramic art encouraged. No giclee prints / copies.
FEE: Two piece limit. 1 piece $35 / 2 pcs. $50. Cash and checks only. Artists may renew or join at entry or on our website via PayPal prior to art drop off and must present PayPal receipt at drop off.
ACCEPTED ARTISTS: Will be posted on the GAS website by 10am, Tuesday July 24.
REMOVAL WORK NOT ACCEPTED: Tuesday, July 24 from 3:30 – 7:00 pm. If your artwork is NOT on the GAS website accepted list, it must be picked up Tuesday evening by you or your representative.
Late pick up fee $25 per day per piece strictly enforced.
REMOVAL SHOWN WORK: Tuesday, August 16, from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm. No early removal of work. Late pick up fee $25 per day per piece strictly enforced.
LIABILITY/ SALES: Although care will be taken, neither the GAS nor the Greenwich Library will be responsible for loss or damage. Entry constitutes agreement to this condition. GAS retains 30% commission for all sold art.
AWARDS: $2000 presented at the opening reception
JUDGE: Jenny Harris has worked at The Museum of Modern Art in the Department of Painting and Sculpture since 2013, and has been a curatorial assistant since 2015. During this time, she has worked with Leah Dickerman on the exhibitions One-Way Ticket: Jacob Lawrence’s Migration Series and Other Visions of the Great Movement North (2015) and Robert Rauschenberg: Among Friends (2017), for which she also organized the public program Dance Among Friends, featuring choreography by Rauschenberg’s collaborators, Trisha Brown, Merce Cunningham, and Paul Taylor. Most recently, she assisted in the installation of the collection presentation, The Long Run (2017, organized by Paulina Pobocha and Cara Manes) and is currently working on the reinstallation of the collection for the reopening of the Museum in 2019. Prior to working at MoMA, she was the Liliane Pingoud Soriano Curatorial Fellow at the Musée du Louvre, Paris. She holds a BA from Wellesley College (2012).

*** The Flinn Gallery requires an attendant to be in the gallery at all times during hours of operation. Artists unable to sit are obligated find replacements from a list of paid sitters available at art drop off. Members who have paid to waive their volunteer time are exempt from this requirement.
