FOCUS photo l.a. is an online competition and part of the educational component of photo l.a. which strives to spotlight the best emerging and mid-career artists working in photography.

For 26 years, photo l.a. has celebrated and brought together the photography and arts communities. It is with this mission in mind that we have presented a photo competition with our partners, The Icon and Fine Art Solutions, to help provide emerging and mid-career artists/photographers opportunities to broaden their career opportunities and promote their work.

With over 10,000 attendees each year, dozens of programming, lectures and seminars, and over two decades of history, photo l.a. is a fixture in the world of fine art photography, attracting international collectors, galleries, and dealers.

Through our long established partnerships with world-renowned photography galleries, art fairs, museums, curators and publications, winners of past FOCUS photo l.a. competitions have had the rare opportunity to foster relationships, hone their craft and promote their work within the photographic art community.

The top twenty finalists will be exhibited at photo l.a. January 12-15, 2017 and seen by over 10,000 visitors to the fair. One lucky Grand Prize Winner will also receive a round-trip ticket to Los Angeles to attend the opening night of photo l.a. 2017 along with a three-night stay!
