Our 10th annual Contemporary Woman art showcase is open to all women 18 and older, worldwide. This is a juried show, and as such requires an application (available online or at the Art Center). This very important exhibit examines the contributions of women in the art world, and their expression as female artists. The show dates are: April 8 – May 6.

Selected artists notified by March 14.

Cash prizes for: 1st $500, 2nd $300, and 3rd $200 place winners.

This year’s juror is Ruth Waters, President and Founder of the Peninsula Museum of Art, Burlingame, CA

Drop-Off Dates (accepted work only): April 2, 3, 12 – 4pm; shipped work must arrive by 4pm on April 1. Pick Up Dates: May 7, 8,12 – 4pm, Shipped work returned within 30 days AWARDS: Cash awards $1000 total, $500 first prize Entry Fees: $25 for two entries, each additional entry $5, no limit. Otherwise, this form with entry fee and photos (up to 81/2” x 11”), a CD, or email images and form to: [email protected] (as jpgs up to 1MB total file size-must prepay on CAC website or by phone), please put “Contemporary Woman” in the subject line. Eligibility and Requirements –Open to female artists 18 or older everywhere. All visual media except film, video, installation or performance accepted. –Works not previously shown at the Chico Art Center gallery or Gift Shop will be accepted. –$25 first two entries, $5 per additional entry- No limit. Use a second page if needed. Entry fees are non-refundable. This is a Juried show. –Shipped works must arrive on OR before April 1 by 4pm. Shipped entries must add a $10 unpacking/repacking fee and return prepaid shipping-labels. –All works will be for sale. Sales tax to be included in the price. A 30% commission donation is requested for sales resulting from this exhibition. –Work must not exceed 40” in any direction, including frame. Sculpture height is limited to 10 feet. No exceptions. –Hanging work must use “D” rings or securely attached eye-hooks with braided wire. NO saw tooth hangers. –3D works must be able to be moved safely by one person, and no larger than 36” x 36” x 10’ tall. –Necklaces, earrings, and other jewelry must be presented as a set, at one price. Means of display must be provided. No individual prices for separate-items.
