The concept of Chiaroscuro has been evident throughout art history since the 5th C. in Greece, with more extensive use resuming in the 15th C. to today. The use of light (chiaro) and shadow (scuro) assists in creating three dimensionality and drama to two-dimensional works of art. Contemporary use of this technique is found in drawing, painting, mixed media, printmaking and photographic works. The use of a single light source assists in creating this effect. All media welcomed; we look forward to your entry!

The Loft Artist Association is pleased to announce an open, tri-state call for entries from artists in Connecticut, New York and New Jersey. Juror is Nancy McTague-Stock, MFA, will review all entries via EntryThingy.com. The Show dates are Saturday, October 16 – November 7, 2021. Deadlines include September 19th for entries, October 1st artist notifications, Accepted Artwork Drop off October 10-11 and Opening Reception and Awards Ceremony on Saturday, October 16th.
