The Art House is sponsoring the first Annual Juried Exhibition: “Art by America, A National Review of Two-Dimensional Contemporary Art” in 2015. This exhibition will feature 250 American artists working in two-dimensional mediums. This annual exhibition is a collaborative effort between the practicing artists of The Art House and Arts on Elston and the field of Art History and Criticism to gather a wide range of submissions in order to determine the two-dimensional contemporary visual art trends and traditions across America. Artists participating in this project will have their work reviewed and curated by an insightful and professional panel of jurors and artists who will 1.) Assess the trends and traditions of 2-D fine art by practicing artists residing in America, 2.) Designate awards and cash prizes in each category: The Juror’s Award, $1,000, The Art House Award, $500; Best in Show, $500 and Honorable Mention, $250, 3.) Identify 250 2-D artists to participate in a curated, month-long, on-site exhibition that spans two Chicago galleries in the Avondale art district, and 4.) Include multiple press releases and a published exhibition review.
