More than an art book, it is a growing archive of lived experiences told through visual expression.

Launched in 2024, the project was created with a simple yet meaningful purpose: to give women artists a space where their work and stories could be documented, celebrated, and preserved beyond the temporary nature of exhibitions or the fast pace of social media. Since then, the Art & Woman series has published the work of more than 300+ women artists across its first three editions, bringing together artists from diverse cultures, backgrounds, disciplines, and stages of their careers.

Now in its fourth edition, Art & Woman continues this journey by inviting women artists worldwide to share work that reflects their personal experiences, observations, and unique artistic voices. Rather than following a single theme, the project embraces the richness of individual narratives. Whether exploring identity, memory, family, belonging, resilience, transformation, grief, joy, healing, or the quiet moments that shape everyday life, every submission contributes to a larger conversation about what it means to create as a woman.

The open call welcomes artists working across all visual mediums, including painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, printmaking, textile art, ceramics, mixed media, digital art, installation, and experimental practices. Every medium becomes another language through which artists can communicate ideas, emotions, and experiences that words alone cannot fully express.

At its heart, Art & Woman recognizes the profound relationship between women’s lives and their creative practice. It acknowledges that art is often intertwined with care, work, memory, responsibility, hope, and imagination. This spirit is beautifully reflected in Maira Kalman’s Women Holding Things:

What do women hold?
The home and the family.
And the children and the food.
The friendships.
The work.
The work of the world.
And the work of being human.
The memories.
And the troubles.
And the sorrows and the triumphs.
And the love.

These words remind us that women carry countless visible and invisible stories throughout their lives. Art & Woman exists to make space for those stories, allowing them to be seen, shared, and remembered through art.

Art & Woman Edition Four is juried by Liz Lidgett, whose thoughtful approach to collecting, curating, and supporting contemporary artists brings another meaningful perspective to this year’s edition. Together with Arts to Hearts Project, this edition continues the mission of championing women artists while building an enduring record of their creative contributions.

Every artist featured becomes part of a growing international community whose work reflects not only individual journeys but also the collective story of women creating, imagining, and shaping culture through art.
