The Dubuque Area Arts Collective is looking for artists for its fourth annual Salon Exhibition, which features local and regional artists rejected by one or more juried exhibitions and galleries in the Dubuque area, in the tradition of the Paris Salon des Refusés of 1863.

Over the past three years, the salon has given artists a second chance to present their work to the community, and has highlighted the vast growth of Dubuque’s up-and-coming art scene. The Salon was initiated in 2012 to promote and empower both emerging and experienced artists, and create new opportunities and wider exposure for participating artists.

ELIGIBILITY:
Artists who applied and were not accepted into at least one local exhibit or gallery (VOICES, the DuMA Biannual Exhibition, among others) in the past 6 years are eligible. All types of work encouraged, including, but not limited to, 2D and 3D art, video and multimedia, performance art and installations. Submitted works are not required to be the pieces rejected by other exhibitions.

All artists who qualify will be accepted. To participate, email [email protected]. Include your contact information and your artist statement or a small description of the process or the intent of your work. Attach digital images of each piece. Artists are encouraged to contact us as soon as possible to guarantee space in the gallery.
