Call for Junior College Student Artwork

The University of St. Francis Art Gallery is seeking junior college artists to participate in a nationwide competition with over $12,000 of cash awards and scholarships. The USF Art Gallery is located one block from the historic Rialto building in downtown Joliet.

Engaging the next generation of artists & designers, the 2019 USF Junior College Art Exhibition will offer cash awards as well as three scholarships for those seeking to earn their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) at USF. Taking place in October 2019, the exhibition strives to encourage artistic excellence, provide networking opportunities, and highlight the accomplishments of junior college artists.

Artworks of all medias are eligible; including but not limited to: paintings, sculpture, mixed media, photography, graphic design, installations, short film, and video. For film or specialty entries, student must provide AV equipment if accepted. Artwork should not exceed 7’ in any direction. Applicants may submit up to three works of art.

Eligibility

Artists must be enrolled in a 2-year community college
Artists must be 18 years of age or older
Artists may submit individual work in all media, including artwork designed for installation
Artwork must be original in concept and design
Artwork must be properly prepared for presentation
Artwork must have been created within the past three years
Artwork may not exceed 7’ in any direction
There is a non-refundable $10 submission fee

Entry Guidelines
Entries must be made online. Submissions should represent the exact works of art the artist intends on exhibiting in the 2019 Junior College Art Exhibition.

Entries should include:

Up to 3 works of art
Images should be named with artist’s last name and the title of artwork (ex. LAST NAME_titleofartwork.jpg)
Media, price, and artwork size for each image
Artist statement
$10 submission fee
