Artist Biography

Roxie currently resides and paints out of her studio in the Mid-Hudson Valley.

Holding an MFA in Illustration from Syracuse University, she has worked as a fine artist and educator in the visual arts for 40+ years. Known for her unique approach to the etching process, Roxie became the recipient of two memorial awards in the 115th and 116th Annual NAWA Exhibitions in NYC. She has also been honored by inclusion in the Smithsonian Institute Archives of American Art. (Thank you, Jim Mullen!)

Recent pieces incorporate rudimentary printmaking techniques with a variety of water-based and mixed media. The result is a provocative abstract imagery where surface quality dominates and translucency suggests both human consciousness and the passage of time.

Roxie’s artwork has been exhibited in juried competitions nationally as well as in galleries of the Mid-Hudson Valley and Metropolitan area.
