The Silver Circle Gallery and The Pomfret School Gallery in Putnam, CT and in conjunction with gallery printmaking artist Shirley Bernstein are proud to announce the opening reception for a new exhibit “The Transferred Image”. The featured exhibition represents 15 local print artists from the Printmakers’ Network of Southern New England, a group of artist/printmakers many of whom are respected educators as well as award winning artists. The PNSNE seeks to preserve and incorporate the tradition of printmaking while encouraging creative expression and experimentation. The organization’s mission is to advocate traditional printmaking and provide a resource for regional artists working with the transferred image. The exhibit will be on display August 3 – 26 in the Pomfret School Gallery at Silver Circle. An opening reception will take place on Friday, August 3rd from 6:00pm – 8:00pm. Refreshments will be available.

The exhibit features fifteen acclaimed regional print artists which will include: Amanda Lebel, Barbara Pagh, Betsy Zimmerman, Carmela Venti, Carol Strause FitzSimonds, Claudia Fieo, Eric Goldberg, Grace Bentley-Scheck, Jo Yarrington, Joan Hausrath, Lisa Goddard, Margot Rocklem, Mary Teichman, Shirley Bernstein, Yue Mei Zhang.

The event will also feature multiple printmaking demonstrations from exhibiting PNSNE artists: Shirley Bernstein, Grace Bentley-Scheck, Mary Teichman, and Joan Hausrath. The demonstrations will feature the process and techniques that accomplish each individual artists’ unique approach to printmaking styles such as monoprint, collage, copper plate etching, collagraph, silk aquatint, and reduction woodprints.
