Students will deepen their knowledge and abilities by studying old masters. They will learn to break down a painting by an old master at a fundamental level in order to understand it and incorporate the techniques learned into their own work. Topics include composition, tones, drawing, form, and color. Every student will be provided a selection of master copies to choose from such as Rembrandt, Velazquez, John Singer Sargent, Rubens, Bouguereau and many more. By the end of the class, students will have developed a process for copying masterworks as well as a renewed confidence and improvement in their own work. This class is designed for beginners to the more experienced artist. Registrations available for 3, 6 or 12 week sessions.
