Course Description

This is a special 1-hour, abbreviated version of a more comprehensive workshop on mobile photography that will be offered in August at FMOPA. Attendance is free for both FMOPA members and non-members (non-members must still pay the standard museum admission fee to participate). Students will learn the basics of taking a good photograph, review smartphone camera and native editing functions, explore third-party photo-editing apps and discover other mobile camera-related accessories. This course is designed for people who want to improve their skills and understanding of mobile photography in order to take better — and more artful — pictures of people, places and things. This presentation-style workshop is open to all mobile device-users, but please be aware that live classroom demonstrations and some course material is specific to the iPhone. Students only need to bring their smartphones and their imaginations.

Workshop Outline:

Review Mobile Photography Background
Review Mobile Camera Features/Basic Tips
Review Basic Photography Tips
Review Native Camera Editing Platform
