What is DOORS FOR HUMANITY? Doors for Humanity is an opportunity for local artists to utilize their talents to help make the world a better place by decorating a door to be auctioned off at the BluesFest Kick Off Event in Old Town.

Why should I participate?

•    Exposure: Donating artists’ names, websites and door images will be featured on the Habitat for Humanity Lansing website AND in a printed program at the event. The doors will be showcased at the Lansing BluesFest/Habitat for Humanity Kickoff event. What’s more, some awesome art and music lover will add your artwork to their collection!

•    Good Karma: Habitat for Humanity Lansing is an organization that has been helping area families for 28 years, building not only homes, but community. MICA has been supporting the arts community for 31 years. This is your chance to support two organizations that support your community
Who will benefit? The proceeds will be split between Habitat for Humanity Lansing and MICA, so both the artist community and our Lansing community as a whole will benefit.

What are the guidelines for the artwork? Please have your door relate to the theme of community, and be family friendly. Doors should maintain a portrait orientation, and you have an option of completing one or both sides of the door. You can use any media on your door – just keep in mind that it will be on display outside, rain or shine!

How can I get my door? Fill out the form below and bring it to the Habitat for Humanity Lansing Restore (1941 Benjamin Dr., Lansing), August 5-8, during regular business hours to pick out your door and start creating!!!

When is it due? Completed doors should be dropped off at the Habitat for Humanity Lansing Office by the close of business on September 10, 2015.
