Lee provides modern, mystic paintings and expresses a yearning for transcendence and the infinite. Her paintings seek to connect with the primordial emotions locked in the realm of unconscious memory, utilizing the expressive power of color by sensitively deploying them in large field that might envelope the viewer when seen at close quarters. As our memory has been recorded in certain color, the color stimulates certain moods in us. Lee’s painting awakes joy or sadness locked in our memories accordance with its configuration; the color nourishes and rekindles the fullness that comes from emotion.

Able Fine Art NY Gallery has invited YunJung Lee to have a solo show. Lee was born and raised in South Korea. She graduated from Daejin University and Korea National University of Arts, and has exhibited throughout Seoul and Osaka, Japan.
