“In visual perception a color is almost never seen as it really is—as it physically is. This fact makes color the most relative medium in art. In order to use color effectively it is necessary to recognize that color deceives continually. Color is “passive,” “deceptive,” and “unstable,” “color behaves, color is magic.” Joseph Albers, Interaction of Color

This is an open Call for Submissions from artists all over the USA for an exhibit in our gallery – 8000 square feet of a Civil War-era warehouse on the Red Hook waterfront. With its trendy restaurants, bars, boutiques and billion-dollar view of the Statue of Liberty and New York Harbor, it’s an exciting place to visit and EXHIBIT. The enormous space of the gallery affords us the opportunity to exhibit large work, and we welcome it.

We are fortunate to be joined by a prestigious juror – Marcela Guerrero, Assistant Curator at the Whitney Museum of American Art. With her experience, expect an exceptionally exciting exhibition!
