Whitney Prentice’s primary interest is painting and drawing the figure. He was an award recipient in the Hudson Valley Art Association’s 88th annual exhibition in 2021. He has shown work widely including at the Dahesh Museum, New York, NY, The New Britain Museum of American Art, New Britain, CT, Spectrum Gallery, Centerbrook, CT, Lyme Art Association, City Wide Open Studios, New Haven, and many others. He teaches drawing and painting at Paier College, Bridgeport, CT; art history at Gateway Community College, New Haven, CT; and has taught at Silvermine Arts Center, New Canaan, CT. He and his wife (and fellow artist) Jan reside in Branford, CT where he enjoys painting her en plein air while she herself is painting
