Robin Price lives surrounded by her spectacular garden. She kneels in the dirt and nurtures her plants and flowers every day, creating a living intimacy that is evident in her painting. She knows the scent and feel of the flowers she cuts and takes into her studio to create another still life painting. She steps back and observes, adding fabrics and fruit and other decorative objects as she builds her compositions. The artist states that: “Melodies are created for me when colors are balanced. Repeating shapes create rhythms.  While I am in the process of putting paint on the canvas, my sense of touch feels the presence of a plane where space should be. The ensuing internal dialog between literal space and the figurative space is exciting; the record of the process causes the scene to resonate. The finished painting is logically known to be a 2 dimensional design on the plane of the canvas. But hopefully it is more. I want the visitor to feel some of the energy, joy and life I experience in the process.”
