"My work is an ongoing process involving different genres from representational to the abstract. I am continually experimenting with mediums and methods, work instinctually, and I am always surprised at the finished piece. What motivates me is pushing the envelope, taking risks in these multi-layered collages. I love injecting visuals and textures that beckon my viewers to get close. I utilize acrylic, watercolor, gouache, inks, graphite, and other mediums to translate my piece. I paint, glaze, scratch, tear, cut and paste as I interpret the work. I infuse current media, newspaper, tickets, and receipts. When scouring the city sidewalks, I find ‘street treasures’ with the patina only time, traffic and weather can bestow. I am a collector of paraphernalia, paper and text especially of the early nineteen and twentieth centuries. This array I suffuse into each work. The end result to stimulate and intrigue with these randomly constructed works."
