Phil Gruppuso, a native of New York, is a semi-retired physician-scientist, a musician, and a life-long woodworker. He has lived in southern New England since 1977. Woodworking began as a practical endeavor for him, a way to fill a need for functional items for his home. In recent years, it became a serious endeavor, melding the challenges of design, functionality and craftsmanship. He established Seekonk Woodworking in 2011, focusing on a mix of commissions and original studio woodworking pieces. He is a craft artist member of two local galleries, ArtProv and Imago.
