Nina Ulett grew up in Santa Clara, CA. In 2012, she relocated to Southern California to pursue a career in the arts. In 2017, she graduated Summa Cum Laude from Laguna College of Art + Design with a BFA in Fine Arts, Painting and Drawing. She now works at LCAD teaching their Community Education introductory oil painting course. Her work is often characterized by the placement of figures in vibrant dream-like spaces. She attributes fantasy stories, natural imagery, and a deep love for color theory and design to be among the primary influences on her work. Each portrait is a private look into the subject’s sense of self, with color and pattern being used to visually construct the emotional atmosphere of the piece.
