Michelle Jung was born in 1964 in Hartford, Connecticut. She received a BA in Art History from Colorado State University and a MFA in Painting at the Academy Of Art University, San Francisco. Michelle enjoys painting en plein air and follows the American Impressionist tradition of exploring light and atmosphere. In studio, working from sketches made on location, she recreates large scale paintings to capture the varying moods of time and place. Jung is a newly elected Artist Member of The Guild of Boston Artists. She also holds memberships with several national organizations including the American Impressionists Society, American Society of Marine Artists, California Art Club and Oil Painters of America. Recent notable publications featuring Jung include “Artist To Watch”, Southwest Art, April 2015, “Celebrating Marine Art Today”, Fine Art Connoisseur, December 2014, and “Artist of Note”, Southwest Art, September 2014. Her award winning work is held in may private and corporate collections.
