I find pure joy in the simplest of forms. To me they are far from simple. A feather, an egg or the ever-changing cloud formations, nature is a reoccurring theme in my work. I have always been fascinated by light and shadow. Intricate colors are found as one studies everyday objects . Endless patterns occur as darker values meet lighter values and the excitement of creating three dimensions on a two dimensional surface drives me to create. Though I have worked in many mediums, oils seem to be what I gravitate towards. Depth and luminescence when creating with oils lend themselves well to my work and what I hope to achieve as I paint. The simplicity of working with graphite, charcoal and pastels are mediums that I also enjoy exploring. My hope is that I might capture and convey images in a unique way, so that others might share the exhilaration that I feel when study my subjects.
