Gladys Triana

Presented by Curtis Gallery, New Canaan Library

Light is extremely important in Gladys Triana's photography. Triana credits the works of Renaissance artists, especially Rembrandt and Caravaggio, as inspiration for the notable variations of intensity in the background or her works, instead of the object. After more than 40 years of working primarily in painting and sculpture, Triana debuted her first photographic series in 2002.
